Hoon Mode is an advanced, switchable feature – exclusive to Penta Performance – that is programmed directly into a vehicle’s ECU. It’s designed to work seamlessly with the Cruise Control system—when cruise is enabled (but not actively engaged), Hoon Mode becomes active and unlocks performance-enhancing features at the press of a button.
How does it work?
Your vehicle’s ECU is essentially a dedicated computer that manages many different functions. For example, it controls the Turbo Control Valve (TCV) and also handles Cruise Control.
Think of Hoon Mode as an additional function we add to your ECU—like teaching it a new skill. We then link this new function to the controller responsible for Cruise Control input as a safe activation trigger.
Can you explain further how it does not interfere with the C/C?
Cruise Control (C/C) operates in three different stages:
Disabled Stage: Cruise Control off — HOON Mode is disabled.
Enabled Stage: Cruise Control enabled but not set — HOON Mode is active.
Engaged Stage: Cruise Control actively controlling speed — HOON Mode is disabled.
What features or options can I get with HOON Mode?

My vehicle doesn’t have Cruise Control. Can I still use this?
HOON+ Launch must be triggered via the Cruise Control input (Cruise Control enabled, but not actively controlling speed). Vehicles without Cruise Control cannot currently use HOON+ Launch; however, many owners have successfully retrofitted Cruise Control hardware and software to enable this functionality.
Does HOON Mode affect factory safety systems?
No. HOON+ Launch does not interfere with traction control, ABS, or stability systems. All factory safety systems remain fully operational. HOON+ Launch only uses the Cruise Control signal to arm itself and does not override core ECU safety logic.
